Yesterday, I took a drive to Batavia to go shopping at Target. I’ve been holding onto a few coupons and waiting for some good sales before I used them. After having taken a trip earlier in the week to Target to check out some of the unadvertised sales (like the DiGiornio pizza’s reduced to $2/10), I thought it would be a good time to use up some of my coupons there.
I took about 3 hours in the morning to plan my trip, and looked up any last minute deals or scenarios I may have missed that night. My shopping list consisted of:
Listerine Total Care (bonus pack) $4.24 (clearance)
(4) $1/1 Target printable coupon
(4) $2/1 Total Care printable coupon
= $1.24 each
Stouffer’s Mac N Cheese (Family Size) $5.45 (discount price)
(2) $1.50/1 Target printable coupon
(4) $0.75 Stouffer’s printable coupon
= $3.95 each
Gold Peak Unsweetened Tea $1.49
(4) $1.00/1 printable coupon
= $0.49 each
DiGiornio Pizza, Pepperoni $5/10 (discount price)
(4) $2/1 printable coupon
= $3 each
Breyer’s Ice Cream Blasts $3.49
(2) $1/2 printable coupon
(4) $0.75 Target printable coupon
= $2.24 each
Purina One Beyond 3.5lbs dog food $6.99 (discount price)
(1) $4/1 coupon (SS 10/9/11)
(1) $1/1 Target printable coupon
= $1.99
Milk Bone, $2.54
(1) $1.50/2 Target printable coupon
(1) $1.50/2 coupon (SS 10/9/11)
= $1.04 each
All in all I paid $40.15 after taxes with a total savings of $44.24! I’ve been trying to work on saving around 90% of my grocery/shopping bill and I seem to be hitting it now that I’m getting used to couponing. It definetally takes a lot of work to plan a shopping trip, collect coupons, and find the best deals. My goal is to keep aiming for 90% in savings when I go shopping.
